You will start by taking your pup out first thing in the morning. 10-30 minutes after eating your puppy will have to relieve himself again. The most common times your pup will have to relieve himself is upon waking, after eating and after play time(when excited). Take your pup to the same place the same time and after each meal.  Praise him make sure he knows your happy with him/her .Being consistent is the key to housebreaking. Puppies under four months of age cannot be expected to go through the whole night. If he whines let him/her out and then return to crate. Above is a sample housebreaking chart it can be adjusted to your schedule.
